Take time now to plan—choose a team or training partners—and find the motivation you’ll need to do those crucial long runs. Your 2010 marathon adventure begins here!

NYRR Youth and Community Services

As you prepare for the ING New York City Marathon, more than 100,000 kids in schools and community centers are also building a foundation of health and fitness, thanks to NYRR’s Youth and Community Services. Our Young Runners and Mighty Milers programs have a 10-year track record of introducing running to kids as a fun, character-building activity that helps fight childhood obesity. As you work toward marathon day, you’ll be part of the kids’ inspiration as they strive to meet their own goals.

Free Timex Heart Rate Monitor

Ten lucky marathoners have the chance to win a premium Timex heart rate monitor system. Connect with Timex Sports on Facebook, and post the reason why a Timex heart rate monitor will help you train smarter for your big race on November 7. Enter the contest by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on April 28 and follow the contest rules on Facebook to be eligible; winners will be contacted by April 30.
