Make It Your Day

There’s nothing like the ING New York City Marathon—from the breathtaking bridges to the city streets lined with fans—so don’t let your fear of the unknown get in the way. You can be unstoppable by November 7, if you stick to your training plan and take our advice to heart. Use what you have at your disposal now to get ready to race. If you’re in shape and psyched to have the best time of your life, you’ll be able to deliver on race day.

Plan Ahead

Buy Tickets in Advance

Don’t leave your race weekend to chance. Review the race-week schedule to decide what you, your friends, and your family can do together. The Marathon in a Motorcoach tour runs from November 4 through 6, and the ticketed Barilla Marathon Eve Dinner is also open to everyone—purchase tickets today. If you want your friends and family to catch all the action on the sidelines, order finish-line bleacher seats for them—they’ll thank you for it.

The Best Deals in Town

Get to NYC and enjoy your stay with the help of Anthony Travel. Take advantage of exclusive deals at hotel rooms secured solely for ING New York City Marathon guests. But don’t let these offers sell out. Make your reservations now to get the best rates before they’re gone.

Tell Us About You

We’re interested in you—why you decided to do this marathon, what it’s taken to get to this point in your training, and who’s supported you along the way—so e-mail your story to us. Please limit the message to one page in length, and we’ll contact you if we can use your story. Include your name, address, contact information, and age in the message with the subject line: marathon story.

Keep Up Your Momentum

With the marathon less than four months away, your training is in full gear. You’ll be attacking many long runs in the coming months. Sign up for local races—check our site if you’re in the tri-state area—to test your speed. And tweak your plan as needed. As you train, don’t get hung up on regrets—you can miss a workout without fear of ruining your race—just don’t make a habit of missing your long runs. Visit our site for tips as you continue on this adventure. And when you have questions, talk to your fellow runners—they’re a great resource close to home that you can tap into anytime!

Read All About It

The all-new Get Started Guide will be arriving in the mail by early August; read it from cover to cover to get all the early details about race weekend and the big event. We’ve created this mini-guidebook to give you insight into the race, but there’s more: You’ll receive the Official Handbook, a complete guide to the marathon, in the mail in September. The handbook will outline the race in full detail, including any changes from last year. Hold on to both of these holy grails to feel confident that you’re in the know on race day.
