Commemorating Your Race

Tip #18 - Wednesday, October 28

You can preserve your marathon memories in these special ways:

Embrace your race-week experiences, including your visit to the expo and other events. Make sure your camera or phone is charged! [Race-week Schedule]

Thank your running partner, friends, and family for supporting you -- or encourage them to honor and celebrate you! Check out exclusive Honor Your Marathoner items from Tiffany & Co, Italian Wine Merchants, and ProFlowers.

Attend the Marathon Monday Event on November 2 to shop for exclusive finisher clothing -- shirts, jackets, hats -- and take advantage of Hospital for Special Surgery’s recovery sessions including stretching, massage, and consultations with physical therapists. The Tavern on the Green store is also your opportunity to order medal engraving, shadow boxes, and photos and videos.

Pick up a copy of Monday’s New York Times, featuring special marathon coverage and your name in the results section if you’ve finished in four and a half hours or faster.

Also on Monday, visit the ING DIRECT Café (968 Third Avenue at 58th Street and 45 East 49th Street at Park Avenue) to purchase limited-edition souvenirs and finisher clothing and copies of The New York Times, and to use the computers to be one of the first to apply for lottery entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2010. What better way to celebrate!

Weather forecast for November 1: Showers; High 56, Low 43.
