I'm In - Wheelers
More than 30 minutes before Gebre Gebremariam crossed the line, Britain’s star wheelchair racer David Weir broke the tape in 1:37:29, just three seconds ahead of Japan’s Masazumi Soejima. Four-time ING New York City Marathon champion Kurt Fearnley finished less than a minute later in 1:38:44. In the women’s race, it was all stars and stripes as Tatyana McFadden (2:02:22) led Christina Ripp (2:08:05) and Amanda McGrory (2:09:42). Familiarity with the course was the key to victory for today’s winning wheelers.
